The Chamber...
...supports businesses in our community in many ways. The members of our community have taken on the responsibility to support our mission, our projects, and each other in a true effort to make the community a wonderful place to live, play, work or visit. Take a few moments to look at all the aspects of our Chamber and it's members, and we feel you will not only come to realize how our members support the community but make a conscious effort to promote it and be a part of it's future.

Our Mission...

The Pulaski / Eastern Shore Chamber of Commerce is organized to advance the general welfare and prosperity of the Greater Pulaski surrounding area so that its citizens and all areas of its business community shall prosper. All necessary means of promotion shall be provided and particular attention and emphasis shall be given to the economic, civil, commercial, industrial and educational interests of the area

Our History...
Although we are still compiling the history of our chamber, we have located some very interesting material about our beginnings. In November of 1894, the Pulaski Business Association was organized with J. I. Hutchens as corresponding secretary. It was comprised of the enterprising business men of the village, and was formed for the purpose of fostering and encouraging local manufacturing and commercial interests. This was truly the beginning of the chamber of commerce structure in our area.

The next data we have unearthed is that on May 23, 1946, twenty "progressive" businessmen met to "make Pulaski a more prosperous business center".

On June 6, 1946 at 8:00 pm these gentlemen formally met at the American Legion house on Lake Street. Although no name was chosen until the next meeting, this organization became the Chamber of Commerce. The president chosen was Max A. Butler with George Greene serving as Vice President and Stanley Hinman, Jr. serving as Secretary/Treasurer.

STAY TUNED.....as we uncover more history about our current day chamber.
